Reduced Mass Windshield
The windshield has been thinned for a mass reduction of 1.0 kilograms
(2.2 pounds). A windshield is constructed of three layers: glass
on the outside, a layer of polyvinyl butyl, and then a layer of
glass on the inside. The inner layer was thinned, so that mass is
reduced, but resilience to stone chips is maintained.
Reduced Mass Backlight
The backlight (rear window) has also been thinned for a mass reduction
of 1.6 kilograms (3.5 pounds).
The overall effect of the thinner windshield and backlight reduces
the Z06's cabin isolation, allowing a little more noise into the
cockpit, giving it a greater sense of immediacy and putting the
occupants a little more in tune with the car.
Z06 Fender Emblems
Z06 emblems are placed above each front wheel well, for a discreet
yet essential indication of the car's heritage.

Front Fascia Grilles
Air intakes have been opened up in the front fascia to help improve
air flow to the engine air inlet. Stainless-steel mesh grilles are
placed over these intakes, giving the Z06 a purposeful, ready-to-race
demeanor.

Rear Rocker Panel Scoop and Brake Duct/Grille
Brake scoops and grilles are placed in the rear rocker panel, just
ahead of the rear wheels. The rear brake scoops force air around
the rear tires and brake calipers, improving brake performance and
fade resistance. The brake scoops reduce brake temperatures by about
fifty degrees under heavy usage, which is a very significant improvement,
especially on the racetrack.
